Ampfield, Nr. Romsey
October should be a fabulous time to visit the Gardens, with many trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials continuing to flower into the Autumn, and other plants starting to form ornamental fruits. These include cotoneasters, crab apples, hawthorns, hollies and Sorbus. Towards the end of September, the stunning autumn colour of the trees begins and this continues through until winter, with all shades of yellow, red and orange.
Meet at 10.30 at the entrance. There are refreshments available, but also lots of outdoor tables if people prefer to bring their own picnic. The Gardens are open until 6pm; there are currently no guided tours so everyone can decide how long they wish to stay.
